The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Afdah. The Guardians of the Galaxy buy Noufer back from the Collector and begin to rebuild him after attacking him, and also accept Cosmo as a new member. As Christmas approaches, Kraglin Obfonteri tells the Guardians the story of how Yondu Udonta ruined Peter Quill's Christmas when he was a child. Mantis talks to Drax about finding the perfect gift for Quill, as he is still overwhelmed by Gamora's departure. b) She also mentions to Drax that she is Quill's half-sister since they share a father, Ego, but refuses to tell Quill the truth for fear of reminding him of his father's terrible deeds. c) After brainstorming ideas, they agree to go to Earth and pick up Quill's childhood hero, Kevin Bacon.
Mantis and Drax fly to Earth and land in Los Angeles, California, where they try to track down Bacon. Eventually, after receiving photos from fans and entering a bar, they receive a star card from a travel store owner and use it to find Bacon's home in Beverly Hills. Bacon, awaiting the return of his family, is frightened by the appearance of Mantis and Drax and tries to escape. The police arrive to help, but Mantis puts them and Bacon into a trance under the influence of his power. Back at Knowhere, Mantis and Drax learn to their dismay that Bacon is an actor and not a real hero. Later, the Guardians throw a Christmas party for Quill, who loses his temper after learning that Bacon was kidnapped against his will and demands to be brought home. However, Obfonteri convinces Bacon to stay by telling him about how he inspired Quill to do the deed. Bacon agrees to stay and celebrate Christmas with the Guardians before returning home. Quill and Mantis later reconcile when the latter reveals the truth about their relationship, and Quill tells the full story of how Udonta accepted Quill's Christmas present and gave him the blasters.
