A commission consisting of scientists and the clergy sends Elizabeth to the place of the ongoing miracle, not only to give a medical assessment of the phenomenon, but also to see if this is a common hoax and deception. What happened next, in order to avoid spoilers, I will not reveal.
From the very beginning, the film surprises with its production. Many viewers are already accustomed to the more frequent “breaking through the fourth wall” in the cinema, but the one shown to us is clearly called differently. For a second there was a feeling that I was mistaken and I was watching a completely different film. But soon everything falls into place. The project was filmed in Ireland and the viewer is given, for a while, to enjoy the beautiful green expanses shrouded in an omnipresent fog. The plot plunges into the atmosphere of village life, in this case, a large family, which became instantly known throughout the district, into the cycle of faith and disbelief at the same time. Many want to be involved in a miracle or debunk the myth of ignorance. One can understand Anna's parents, who are not accustomed to such close attention to them and their daughter. They have their own worries and such a situation is clearly not good for the marginalized cell of society. The ambiguous attitude to the phenomenon spurs Elizabeth to a thorough investigation, moreover, the nun given to her as a partner, at the instigation of the commission, does not particularly share her observations.
