Life imitates art, and art imitates life. Someone along the road had the bright idea of expressing the essence of two people's relationships through films, books, and television series. They indoctrinated us into believing that there are two ways for two people to fall in love and two ways for it to end. Either "happily ever after" or a breakup will occur. This type of storytelling constraint weakened our (or, more specifically, mine) notion of romance, making the genre and our lives conventional and uninteresting. But it's more than just a starting and ending place. Life's path is full with possibilities, challenges, and chances. "Look Both Ways," directed by Vanuri Kehau and written by April Prosser, begins with Natalie (Lili Reinhart) and Gabe (Danny Ramirez) planning their future lives. Natalie has a five-year goal for her career in animation. Gabe's ambition is to advance his profession as a drummer in his band. And to commemorate their impending graduation, they had a one-night encounter since they've always had affections for each other. However, on graduation night, she finds herself in the toilet with her friend Kara (Aisha Dee), anticipating the news of her pregnancy. As the fallout accumulates, the story splits into two directions. In one version of events, she does not become pregnant and relocates to Los Angeles with Kara to begin her five-year plan.
