Guillermo del Toros Pinocchio Afdah. The action of the cartoon film takes place in 1930, when Italy is engulfed in chaos. The country is captured by the Nazis, however, riots are constantly happening on the streets. The young boy Pinocchio dreams of becoming a real person in the future. It was created by the hands of a talented craftsman, but never became alive.
He knew how to speak and think, but his soul was cold without a human heart. Pinocchio could not even imagine how many dangers await him around the corner. His father insisted that he always stay at home, because it was much safer that way. Desire and curiosity took over, and the boy began to look for a way to come to life. The wooden doll becomes a simple man, but he does not yet know what kind of cruelty the outside world is capable of. He had never been there before, and now he began to sink into the mud that filled the city. He embarks on endless and full of difficulties insane adventures. On his way, Pinocchio meets true friends and serious enemies who are not going to give him a chance to win.
